Saint Bridget School provides a robust, sequential curriculum fully aligned with the Archdiocese of Boston Catholic Schools Office. All students from preschool through eighth grade engage in a comprehensive set of disciplines.

Lower Grades (K-6) focus on developing a strong foundation in the Catholic faith while building essential skills in reading, writing, mathematics, and problem solving.

Upper Grades (7-8) emphasize Catholic-Christian living, advanced literature and writing, pre-algebra and algebra, American history, and continued study of the biological and physical sciences.

Through this curriculum, Saint Bridget School aims to develop well-rounded, faith-oriented students prepared for both academic challenges and moral citizenship.

Core Curriculum

Students receive a well rounded education that includes Religion, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and enrichment programs such as Spanish, Music, Art, Library, and Physical Education.
Students in our kindergarten program experience a wide variety of both academic and social activities. Instruction includes both whole-class models and interactive center-based activities. Students grow in faith with the use of the Sadlier We Believe series. Reading lessons come from our HMH Into Reading curriculum and math is based on the Savvas Realize EnVisions 2.0 series. Students practice fine motor skills and penmanship with the help of our Writing Our Catholic Faith handwriting series. Science and social studies lessons focus on explorations through teacher-made materials. Kindergarten students attend weekly specials including library, Spanish, gym, art and music.

First grade students build their foundation as young readers through the use of the HMH Into Reading program. Mathematics lessons are based on the Savvas Realize EnVisions 2.0 series. Additionally, first grade students receive daily handwriting instruction with our Writing Our Catholic Faith series. Science and Social Studies explorations are based on teacher-made materials. Faith formation lessons are based on the Sadlier We Believe series. First grade students attend weekly specials including library, Spanish, gym, art and music.

Second grade students grow to be fluent readers with the use of the HMH Into Reading program. Math explorations come from the Savvas Realize EnVisions 2.0 series. Science and Social Studies activities stem from teacher-made materials. Daily religion lessons and First Communion preparation is instructed with the use of the Sadlier We Believe series. Additionally, second grade students receive daily handwriting instruction with our Writing Our Catholic Faith series. Science and Social Studies explorations are based on teacher-made materials. Second grade students attend weekly specials including library, Spanish, gym, art and music.
Third grade students expand their reading fluency and comprehension with the use of the HMH Into Reading program. Our third grade math curriculum includes lessons from Savvas Realize EnVisions 2.0. Daily religion lessons are completed with the Sadlier We Believe program. Third grade students improve grammar skills with Sadlier’s Grammar Workshop and improve penmanship with the Writing Our Catholic Faith series. Our third grade Social Studies curriculum includes the Massachusetts Our Home text and TCI Bring Science Alive is our science program. Third grade students attend weekly specials including library, Spanish, gym, art, music and typing.
Fourth grade students expand their reading comprehension with the use of the HMH Into Reading program. Our fourth grade math curriculum includes lessons from Savvas Realize EnVisions 2.0. Daily religion lessons are completed with the Sadlier We Believe program. Fourth grade students practice grammar skills with Sadlier’s Grammar Workshop and improve penmanship with the Writing Our Catholic Faith series. Our fourth grade Social Studies curriculum includes the TCI Social Studies Alive text as well as theTCI Bring Science Alive series for science. Fourth grade students attend weekly specials including library, Spanish, gym, art, music and typing.
Fifth grade students expand their reading comprehension with the use of the HMH Into Reading program. Our fifth grade math curriculum includes lessons from Savvas Realize EnVisions 2.0. Daily religion lessons are completed with the Sadlier We Believe program. Our fifth grade Social Studies curriculum includes the TCI Social Studies Alive text as well as theTCI Bring Science Alive series for science. Fifth grade students attend weekly specials including library, Spanish, gym, art, music and typing.
Sixth grade students experience a variety of text in the HMH Into Reading series. Our sixth grade math program is Savvas Realize EnVisions 2.0. Sixth grade writers hone their writing skills with both the Sadlier Grammar Workshop series and Writing our Catholic Faith. Science lessons are based on the TCI Bring Science Alive curriculum and Social Studies activities are instructed with the TCI Geography Alive program. Teachers use the Sadlier We Believe series for daily faith formation. Sixth grade students attend weekly specials including Spanish, gym, art and music.
Seventh grade literature students experience both the Prentice Hall series and other various novel studies throughout the academic year. Seventh grade math uses the Savvas Realize EnVisions 2.0 program. Daily faith formation is instructed with the Sadlier We Live Our Faith Catholic Identity program and the Youcat program for Confirmation preparation. Writing and grammar lessons are based on the Sadlier Grammar Workshop program. We use TCI History Alive for our history curriculum as students learn about our Ancient World and TCI Bring Science Alive: Life Science for our seventh grade science curriculum. Additionally, seventh grade students experience our Writing Our Catholic Faith handwriting program. Seventh grade students attend weekly specials including Spanish, gym, art and music.

Eighth grade literature students experience both the Prentice Hall series and other various novel studies throughout the academic year. Eighth grade math uses the Savvas Realize EnVisions 2.0 program. Daily faith formation is instructed with the Sadlier We Live Our Faith Catholic Identity program and the Youcat program for Confirmation preparation. Writing and grammar lessons are based on the Sadlier Grammar Workshop program. We use TCI History Alive for our history curriculum as students learn about the United States through Industrialism and TCI Bring Science Alive: Physical Science for our eighth grade science curriculum. Additionally, eighth grade students experience our Writing Our Catholic Faith handwriting program. Eighth grade students attend weekly specials including Spanish, gym, art and music.
